Hi everyone, I have edited this episode since our recording Sadaf has left her position as Manager of STEM Solutions. And to also better reflect accuracy.
Part 2 of the Muslim Women In S.T.E.M. Series With Sadaf Ahmed
I had a great time speaking with Sadaf. Not only has she achieved so much personal success in her own education and career but she also continues to create opportunity and programs where there are none for young girls to do robotics and S.T.E.M.
Many girls and women find it difficult to find S.T.E.M programs especially in communities where there is a lack of resources and an old way of thinking. But even still in the western world we find:
“A [lack] of women is found in the graduate school level, especially in MBA programs where women constitute less than one-third of the total programs, according to U.S. News and World Report. Wharton also reported a slight fall in the percentage of women enrolled in its full-time MBA class of 2016 - down from 42% last year to 40% this year.” -Huffington Post
"In fields of study related to IT -- especially computer science -- there are clear problems with gender diversity in the educational pipeline. For example, only 18 percent of US university computer science (CS) graduates in 2013 were women.” -Deloitte
Sadaf is a Former Manager at STEM Solutions and Robokids. Her teaching and assessment system is based on certification by NASA - Columbia University's Endeavour Program: "Leadership in STEM Education.”
She is a self-motivated individual with over 7 years of diversified experience in the field of Product Development, Project Management, MIS, Corporate Training and STEM education.
She is an energetic and a technology oriented individual with the ability to lead in a professional way. Her Master’s degree in Business Administration and Master’s in Information Technology (Australia-2013) with distinctions in Process Analysis & Problem Solving, Distributing Computing Technology, and Project Management empower her to lead a team for driving the decisive results with quality. She worked for leading organizations in the country i.e. Warid Telecom, Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital & NDC Training Academy and has earned valuable experience across a broad spectrum of industries.
